Stellantis Rally Cup The 2025 season is in the starting blocks!
In just a few days, the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup Belux will kick off as part of the 42nd Rallye de Wallonie. Eleven teams have registered for this season, with nine duos ready to start in this classic event of the Belgian Rally Championship. The competition promises to be more intense than ever!
Among the favorites for the new season are Lander Depotter and his co-driver Jasper Maelfait. Both have extensive experience in the Cup and rallying in general, competing in both Rally4 and Rally2 cars. Last season, Depotter proved to be very quick, and he could very well become the standout driver this year.
However, Depotter will need to keep an eye on young Dutchman Nard Ippen, who will team up with co-driver Jorie Christiaens. Ippen was the champion in another category of the Belgian Rally Championship last year and is determined to carry that momentum into this season. The competition has been warned!
Corentin Dozot, alongside Coline Fallay, the only female competitor in the championship, has already driven the Peugeot 208 Rally4 twice this season. This should help him maintain a high rhythm right from the start.
Last-minute addition to the line-up, Corentin Fiasse and Adrien Hauteclair have also had plenty of driving time early in the season, having already competed in three events with their Peugeot 208 Rally4, including a victory in the RC4 class at the Rallye des Ardennes. Looking promising...
Manuel Merlevede and Thomas Cloet are also returning from the 2024 season, having competed twice this year with the Opel Corsa Rally4. This duo is firmly aiming for a top-3 finish! German driver Lukas Thiele made it into the top 5 of the Cup during the Spa Rally 2024 and is looking to improve further this year, paired with his new co-driver Loris Elst. Steven Spittaels is also starting the new season highly motivated, now partnered with co-driver Hans Verhaeghe.
The rookies of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup Belux 2025 are Sergio Plattes, who is just 18 years old and about to compete in his second rally, and Andres Palm. They come from the same region as the current world rally champion. Valéry Revillod, known as ‘Balou’ among friends, is transitioning from the youth teams of the Standard football club to rallying. He is eager to enjoy this high-level championship alongside co-driver Aurélien Delforge.
From the Ardeca Ypres Rally, the second round of the 2025 Cup, Irish drivers Niall O’Sullivan and Anthony McDonald will also return to the Belgian stages. Meanwhile, Loris Nuyts, who has substantial R5 experience, will benefit from the extensive expertise of co-driver Guy Burniat.
In short, the fifth edition of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup Belux has all the elements to captivate rally fans from start to finish!
Action!
